Upload Your Data
Upload your radiation measurements to contribute to the Cosmic On Air dataset.
Recommended (Google Form)
The quickest way to submit your data. Upload your measurement and flight details in one place.
Required:
Radiation measurement file from your detector
Flight number and departure date
Sensor/device details
Optional:
Flight tracking data (KML/CSV/GPX)
Legacy data (OpenRadiation)
If your detector uses the OpenRadiation app and database, you can still submit your data here using the form or email options.
We recommend exporting your dataset and uploading it via the form or email so it can be integrated into the Cosmic On Air database.
Manual submission (email)
If you can’t access the form, you can email your data directly to the team.
Please include the following to help us process your data:
Subject title - Data submission
Include in the message body:
Flight number
Departure date
Sensor/device details

Radiation measurement file from your detector
Flight tracking data (KML/CSV/GPX) - optional
Flight Data Download (optional)
We use flight tracking data to match radiation measurements with altitude and location.
You can upload a flight path file (KML/CSV/GPX), but this is optional. If you don’t have one, just provide your flight number and date, we can often retrieve the flight path manually.
Flight data may be viewed or accessed from:
FlightRadar24(easy to use, limited free access)
FlightAware (limited free access)
ADS-B exchange(free, open data; export may need processing)
OpenSkyNetwork(advanced users)
Note: Exporting a KML file is not always available on free plans. If unsure, just submit your flight number and date.
What Happens next?
After you have uploaded your dataset, we will process and validate your submission.
If we successfully map your data to a flight path, you will receive a personalised report of your flight via email.
You can also explore your measurements using our analysis toolkit.
